I feel like I just don’t fit in and don’t really want to; so depressed. =[?

I just mainly need to let everything out that I’ve been feeling today since it just hit me; I’ll try to keep it short so you guys can help. I feel so hopeless, so confused, so lost. Most of the time, I try to be happy and positive and I know who I am generally, but sometimes I just feel like I don’t fit in with society. Although I’m accepted and loved, and I definitely feel that way, I’m also different. I like to do my own thing and not care what other people think. I like to keep it real, whereas people around me can be so negative, fake and full of drama which I hate. I have my passions, but now that I’m 18, everything I mention that I happen to love gets turned into “Do you think that’s something you might want to do in life?” It’s like you can’t do things just for fun anymore; it’s all about the money and careers. Seriously, about half the time I turn around, it’s either “Enjoy your youth” or “You have to know about the rest of your life NOW at 18 years old.” I’m the type of person who, although I’m really ambitious and really want to live life to the fullest, I also just want a simple life; of making money being an online advice columnist and doing some volunteer work to get out there and meet new people. I’m on Social Security Income because of my disability too, so it’s not like making money will be an issue for me in the economy right now, especially since I’ll probably be living with my parents for a long time. It’s really weird sometimes, because everyone else talks about jobs and what field they want to pursue, but I really just want to take it easy throughout life and hang with my family and friends. Is there anything wrong with that? The other thing is, I REALLY want to go to college too (I’m in a college program now and want to apply to be a regular university student when I graduate), not because I’m being forced to or have bought into the hype of needing that bachelor’s degree for employment, but simply for personal reasons; so I can work hard and have fun with it. Sometimes, I feel like I’m spending time with the wrong crowd and feel left out and I just want to make some new friends, leave all the drama behind and start over with a few really good friends. Is that so wrong? I just want to keep being happy and I think that’ll help, but people usually either say college is holy and will get you everywhere, or that it’s a scam and not worth going because of the debt you’ll get into. I want to apply for scholarships and stuff, but I’m not sure if it would screw up my benefits if I did that, and I don’t know how I’d pay for it and still do everything else because my parents can’t do it all. I just…I’m not there for competition or problems or getting in trouble. I just want to be happy, that’s all, but it’s a crazy world out there and I just feel so helpless. What should I do? =_[ I know this is kind of long, and I’m sorry, but any genuine words of encouragement and support would be appreciated. Thanks….

Will we pass the greencard interview?

Hi!
My husband and I love each other very much and to get over family hurdles (I have a very traditional family who restricted how often we saw each other) we eloped. It was a very simple courthouse ceremony but very special, with only our childhood best friends and siblings in attendance.
Our parents have gotten over the shock and love us both, so we’ve moved in with my mom.
Here’s my problem: we’re both college students, this is how we met, and we’re financially supported by scholarships, student loans and our parents. In addition, we’re young (20 and 23) and married quickly. We’ve been going strong for almost a year now though.
Will we have a tough interview with USCIS?! Help!
My husband is a US citizen and we’ve had affidavits of support signed by my dad, who supports us and our lawyer said this is enough to file the application.
I’m worried because people say to bring joint tax returns, leases, joint credit cards and assets to the interview to prove it’s a real marriage.
All my husband and I have are a joint checking account and a few credit cards. Then again being so young we don’t even HAVE the other stuff separately. Opinion?

If I back out of an Army DEP contract now, will it prevent me from enlisting in the future? Like after college?

I signed a Delayed Entry Program contract at the end of July. It was a rash decision, I had just graduated, I hated my job, and school at HBU was going to be too expensive. So I walked into a Recruitment office, it just so happened that the most successful recruiter in Houston was the one to sit me down and discuss my future. (His up most concern) He used the ARCA (Army Recruiting Compensation Advantage) and told me about the expiration of the Army College Fund at the end of July to get me to make a quick decision. So I went to MEPS, took the ASVAB, (Scored a 96) and Processed. My MOS was 19Delta, got a 3000$ bonus and my ship date is Dec 28. My cousin just shipped out this past month, he’s in basic now and is trying desperately to get out. He wrote recently and told me not go. He said, “Go to school and if you want to this after that then fine, but don’t do this now… I made a huge mistake.” So in turn I believe I’ve made a mistake. I did some research and found out about the Army ROTC programs in Houston and the scholarships that can be awarded. So, I want to do this instead: I want to get into the ROTC program at the University of Houston (It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than HBU) and attempt to go in as a commissioned officer, maybe M.I. or Infantry. What I really want is to go to Ranger School and I know I can try and get a Ranger Contract. (Depending on the availability and the MOS??) My biggest concern is that if I get of my commitment now, will it prevent me from going in the future? If that’s the case, if me not going now will hinder it, then ill stick with commitment and go. But I need to know, because if it won’t, if it won’t effect it at all then i’m staying home for now. I haven’t asked my recruiter due to the simple fact that the bastard will not give me an honest answer. Please if anyone knows, and i mean sincerely and honestly knows, not an opinion or a whim, if someone knows please tell me.

Am I not saving enough while in college?

I have a very simple motto regarding money – make more than I spend and make it before I spend it. I don’t have a credit card. My bank offered to make my checking act as credit and I told them not to bother. However, I’m making a pretty decent amount for a college student and I’m spending most of it. I’m traditionally a complete saver (my parents never had a whole lot of money and I never got a job until after my freshman year in college). I pay for tuition room and board with scholarships/loans. I never decide not to do something I want to do (eat out, concert, sporting event) because of money. Thus far this year (sophomore) I’ve gained a wii package worth easily 600 used, xbox 360 package worth a good 500, a nice LCD HDTV, some bose computer speakers, and a macbook pro. That filled my electronic needs so I’ve shifted to clothes. I’ve spent about 500 on clothes in the last 2 weeks. Again I make all of this before I spend it, but should I be saving instead?
Oh, and I’m in the top 5% of a great school and I’ll have ZERO problem getting a well paying job out of college. Don’t bother saying that isn’t guaranteed. Trust me, it is.

What is the best way to advertise a contest that requires voting?

I’m a college student trying to find as many scholarships as I could, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to advertise a contest I joined that requires voting for my pet (lhasa-poo) without people thinking it’s spam? It’s from a website called brickfish and all it requires a simple click, doesn’t take much time. Please give me some ideas! Thanks!

What should I do about school and college?

I am currently a junior in high school and I plan on graduating early. The only 12th grade class I have to take is English 12, and I have that on my current schedule. However, my GPA isn’t that high (i’d say its like 2.5) which is no where near acceptable. I want to become a famous actor, writer, director, and film producer when I get out of highschool but I literally don’t have a clue on where to start. I haven’t taken my SAT or P SAT yet, but I plan on it this year. I want to start applying for scholarships but I am afraid they won’t approve me due to my GPA. There is a community college that is near my neighborhood, but I don’t know if I want to go there. Does anyone have any advice?

Please no dumb ass answers like “just stick to what makes you happy” because clearly I wouldn’t be asking this question if the answer were that simple. And don’t say “stay in school” please give me legit advice.
